Batting three down in CSK’s match against KXIP, Mr IPL got the ball rolling with his quick-fire 32 off 13 balls. Suresh Raina has been CSK’s standout player for the majority of their time in the IPL. A dependable top-order batter, who could change gears within overs, Raina wasn’t one to be dropped from the squad.

He has amassed 5528 during his time in the IPL at an average of 32.51. With 39 fifties against his name at a strike of 136.76, Raina was often the anchor of huge totals set by Chennai Super Kings.

An incredible fielder and a player to bowl the odd couple of overs during tense situations, the Indian batsman was a valuable addition to the squad. Following the footsteps of the legendary former captain of the Indian Team- MS Dhoni, Suresh Raina too hung his boots on 15th August 2020.

Raina announced his IPL retirement in September 2022. He represented Urbanrisers Hyderabad in the Legends League Cricket 2023 in India.
