New Zealand speedster Trent Boult is looking forward to the upcoming clash against England. Boult has been practising hard to get things right for the mega event. The Kiwis were unfortunate to see their first game of the tournament being washed out due to rain. They had to contain themselves with shared points with Australia. Now, every game is like a knockout for them.

Recently, Trent Boult spoke at length about the games that lie ahead. One key point that he noted about the opposition was the bowling department. England has lost the services of Chris Woakes, who was injured during the first game against Bangladesh. However, Boult believes the English team have enough depth and talent to replace Woakes in the lineup.

“Woakes is a massive player for them, he’s played extremely well for them over the past few seasons, but I’m sure they have the depth to replace himRoy is in a bit of a low period too but I presume England are going to persevere with him. We know what he’s capable of, he’s a destructive batsman. We’re preparing to face a quality England side,” quoted Trent Boult.

On Kane Williamson

In their first game, the New Zealand side was paraded almost singlehandedly by their skipper Kane Williamson. Even at the time when things were not going good for the team, Williamson looked very calm at the crease. Speaking about Williamson, Trent Boult noted that Williamson is a very calm customer. He showered praises on his skipper.

“He’s arguably the calmest man alive. He gets more flustered on what to wear on a dinner date with his missus than he does on the field. That’s the most positive thing about him, he stays on a level — he’s not too high when it’s going well or too low when it’s not,” conceded Boult.
