Dambulla Aura vs Colombo Stars Head to Head Record in LPL History

Colombo Stars and Dambulla Aura rub shoulders with each other in Match 14 of the third edition of the Lanka Premier League on Wednesday, December 14, 2022, at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium in Pallekele. Both sides met earlier in the competition in Match five in Hambantota where the Stars defeated Aura by a margin of just nine runs. 

Colombo occupies the fourth position in the points table with just one victory under their belt out of the four matches played. With just two points and three losses, they find themselves in the penultimate spot with a net run rate of -1.638. On the other hand, Dambulla have had a disastrous start to the campaign as they have played four and lost all four of them. Aura, who is winless, has an NRR of -2.240 as they sit rock bottom in the table (all scenarios till Match no. 11). 

Speaking about the Head-to-Head affairs, both have clashed in six encounters so far with Dambulla dominating the fixture. Aura has won four games while the Stars have tasted victories on just two occasions. Both ended up as semi-finalists in the 2020 edition while Colombo finished third and Dambulla fourth in the 2021 season.

As mentioned above, both met earlier in this edition in Hambantota where the Stars registered a nine-run victory. They batted first and managed to post 165/9 on the board courtesy of a 62-run knock from Niroshan Dickwella. Ravi Bopara and Dinesh Chandimal scored 26 and 29 respectively to take their team’s total to above 160. In reply, Dambulla players got starts but nobody could manage to convert it to a big score as they got restricted to 156/7. Suranga Lakmal, Dominic Drakes, and Karim Janat picked up two wickets each for the Stars.
