David Warner and wife Candice welcome third child to the family
The Warners added another member to their family on Sunday in London.
For Australia opener and former vice-captain David Warner, the year 2019 has been a welcome one on both the cricketing field and in his personal life as well. Warner, who made his international cricket comeback for Australia at the ICC World Cup 2019 in England and Wales, has now welcomed a new member to his family. His wife Candice was expected to give birth to their third child amidst the tournament and thus was in England accompanied by the husband.
David and Candice are already parents to two daughters Ivy Mae and Indi Rae, and the family followed Warner to England and Wales and it was planned for Candice to have her labour induced on Sunday in London. Australia played New Zealand at Lord’s on June 29 and right after the match ended, Warner dashed off to the hospital to welcome his newborn. The couple now is proud parents to three daughters. They’ve named the newborn Isla Rose Warner.
Third child after two miscarriages for the Warners
The year 2018 brought on some hard time for the Warner family as David was first banned for 12 months in March after it was revealed that he was the instigator in the infamous sandpapergate in the Cape Town Test match in March against South Africa. The stress of that issue and the fact that David couldn’t play any domestic and international cricket including the IPL, resulted in his wife miscarrying twice in one year.
This tough time passed and Warner first marked his comeback in the IPL 2019 by winning the Orange Cap for most runs and has now registered over 500 runs in the ongoing World Cup 2019 for Australia, including two centuries and the best score of 166. His wife had already come to London before her due date and Isla Rose Warner was born on Sunday, June 30 at 10.30 PM (London Time), as David Warner on accounted on social media.
David Warner is expected to remain in London for an extended period of time, before he joins the Australia squad for their final league match against South Africa at Old Trafford on July 6. Australia have already qualified for the semi-finals after they defeated their trans-Tasman neighbours and are waiting to find out who they meet in the semi-finals.
