India middle-order batter Suryakumar Yadav has had a phenomenal start to his career so far. The elegant right-hand batter scored a fifty in his debut T20I innings against England and announced his start at the international level with a bang. The 30-year-old showed no signs of nervousness while facing Jofra Archer who he nonchalantly dispatched for a six at fine-leg.

Yadav’s seamless transition from the domestic circuit to the international level is due to his stupendous run-scoring in the domestic as well in the Indian Premier League (IPL) for the Mumbai Indians (MI). He consistently scored over 400 runs for over three seasons for MI and made the selectors eventfully include him in the Indian team.

Yadav who is currently with the  Indian team is gearing up to face Sri Lanka and is trying to impress the management in the ODI format too. Ahead of the white-ball series, he spoke to Cricbuzz and opened up about his all-time IPL XI. He included players like Jos Buttler, Ab de Villiers, Rohit Sharma, Jasprit Bumrah, and Rashid Khan amongst it. But, there were notable omissions too, the likes of Chris Gayle, Shane Watson, and David Warner.

Former Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) captain Warner didn’t take his omission lightly from Yadav’s all-time IPL playing XI and cheekily took a dig at the 30-year-old by posting a tweet on his official Twitter account.

Suryakumar Yadav also keen to showcase his bowling skills during the Sri Lanka series

That Yadav is a very good player is a known fact now. But what is not known is his bowling skills. Recently Parthiv Patel kept pestering Yadav on his bowling to which the right-hand batter replied by saying he is practicing and fine-tuning his bowling skills. Yadav is a medium-pacer and has taken 36 wickets so far at the domestic level.

If skipper Shikhar Dhawan wants to use someone as a fifth bowling option, then he possibly can explore that by using Yadav’s seam-up a bit, if any of his top bowlers have an off day. The white-ball series will now begin on July 18, due to rising COVID-19 cases in the Sri Lankan camp.
