Due to the global outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic, there isn’t a lot of sports which is going on in the world. In fact, it would be an understatement to say that the entire world is standing still. During this time, online portals are trying to keep their fans engaged by making content which is slightly experimental.

Fox cricket recently uploaded a tweet predicting the squad for the 2023 World Cup in India. The event is close to three years away. This will be the first world cup that would be entirely played in India.

What mistake the fox cricket did was that they excluded current Australian captain Aaron finch from the Probable XI. He was replaced by Josh Philippe, the 22-year-old from Western Australia. He has played only a few List-A matches but has been really impressive The list also predicted a return of Steve Smith as the Australian captain.

David Warner expresses disappointment over Aaron Finch’s omission

After seeing this post, Finch’s opening partner and long time friend David Warner didn’t take it lightly. He called the prediction disappointing and also asked a question to the Aussie skipper. He asked him if he had told the Fox Cricket
that he is retiring. David Warner tweeted, “Baha @AaronFinch5 have you told them you’re retiring. Stiff, #Fakenews disappointing IMO”

By the time 2023 World Cup begins, Finch would be 36 years old and it is believed that could be the reason why Fox Cricket excluded him to include a young batsman. However, this did not stop them from including David Warner who would also be 36 by the time the next World Cup happens.

Aaron Finch also replied to the tweet and seemed to be very confused about why he was excluded from the predicted squad. Interestingly enough, the Australian captain was later asked about this prediction when he appeared on ‘Fox Footy Live’.

The explosive opening batsman said that it was a very unfortunate thing to witness. “I certainly did notice that. That’s unfortunate, Finch said of the snub. Davey (Warner) is still there as well. I’ve definitely got goals to be there in 2023. I think that’s my end date in international cricket.”

The Australian captain clarified that he will continue to play until 2023. However, at this moment he is going to put all his effort and focus on the T20 World Cup that is about to happen in Australia later this year. “I’ll be putting all my time and effort and focus into obviously this T20 World Cup at the end of the year in Australia and then progressing on (to) 2023 definitely,” Finch said.
