David Warner shaves off his head in support of medical workers; nominates Virat Kohli and his Australia teammates
It will be interesting to see if Virat Kohli obliges to his nomination.
The Coronavirus pandemic has given people ample time to sit at home and reflect on their lives. Most of the countries are under lockdown and with nothing to do, several challenges are trending on social media at the moment. Even the cricketers are not behind in this as they keep nominating others to continue the chain. Australia cricketer David Warner has also done the same though his challenge is unique.
The opening batsman was nominated to shave off his head to show his support to the frontline workers i.e.. the doctors, nurses and others who are working hard to save the lives of the people. Warner, accordingly, shaved his head off and posted the video of the same on his official Instagram handle.
However, he didn’t break the chain and went on to nominate the India skipper Virat Kohli and his Australia teammates in Steve Smith, Pat Cummins, Joe Burns, Adam Zampa and Marcus Stoinis. It will be interesting to see if Kohli who is also at home with his wife Anushka Sharma will oblige to this nomination and shaves off his head as well.
“Been nominated to shave my head in support of those working on the frontline #Covid-19 here is a time lapse. I think my debut was the last time I recall I’ve done this. Like it or not??” David Warner’s caption to the post read.
Here’s the post:
Virat Kohli recently had a haircut from his wife Anushka
Moreover, Virat Kohli also had a haircut from his wife Anushka Sharma only recently and he had posted the video of it on his social media handles as well. Both Warner and Kohli gel along well together and are good friends off the field and all eyes will be on the latter now to see if he saves off his head in respect to the frontline workers.
Meanwhile, the power couple (Kohli and Anushka) pledged their support to the PM CARES and Maharashtra CM Relief Fund on Monday. However, they didn’t disclose the donated amount. But the industry source close to them revealed that they donated Rs 3 crore jointly to the noble cause.
