David Warner unhappy with Tabraiz Shamsi’s celebration

Sunrisers Hyderabad skipper David Warner was not happy with the way the Royal Challengers Bangalore bowler Tabraiz Shamsi celebrated after taking his wicket.

Warner was batting on 92 when he mistimed a hit to long on off the bowling of Shamsi. After seeing the ball being safely pocketed by AB de Villiers, Shamsi ran to the covers to his skipper Virat Kohli and started off with his routinely bus-driver dancing move. Kohli didn’t quite join the celebration but was obviously happy as the danger man had departed.

David Warner, on his walk back to the pavilion, kept looking at the celebration and was largely unimpressed. Commenting on the same in the post-match presentation, the Sunrisers Hyderabad skipper said that reactions went a little overboard.

He quoted, “I was looking at Virat Kohli and I don’t think he was too impressed until he (Shamsi) got a bit closer. I think it’s a bit hard for a captain to stand there and not go (through) the motions. In my team, if someone does that at 150 off 15 overs, I wouldn’t accept that at all. I think it’s a bit fancy to be honest.”

Incidentally, he was not the only one being unimpressed with the South African’s celebration. Australian bowler Adam Zampa, who is the Rising Pune Supergiants team, also tweeted that Shamsi’s wicket celebrations are no good.

Interestingly, Tabraiz Shamsi is renowned for his celebrations, just like his idol Imran Tahir. This is not the first time Shamsi did the popular bus driver move. In the earlier games too, he celebrated his wickets in the same manner.
