Defeat against PBKS is quite a bitter pill to swallow: David Miller

Gujarat Titans and Punjab Kings squared off against each other in the latest game of IPL 2022 where PBKS ticked all the boxes to earn a dominant hand against the table toppers. Punjab’s clinical eight-wicket win ended Gujarat’s winning streak and their performance was lauded by many in the cricket fraternity. In the same light, GT middle-order batter David Miller stated that a defeat to PBKS was definitely a bitter pill to swallow. Miller, who failed to shine against PBKS, added that the Titans’ team environment is really relaxed and guys are leaving no stone unturned to bring out their best. A defeat against PBKS was definitely not the desired result for them but things like these are bound to happen in the league with many games lined up one after the other, reckoned the South African batter. “Our team environment is one of calm. (It is a) very relaxed environment. (The) guys are training hard and (are) extremely competitive and, obviously today (Tuesday), was quite a bitter pill to swallow, with the result,” Miller told the media after the game against PBKS as quoted by India Today. “But that is going to happen through the campaign of an IPL, with so many games. Kagiso Rabada (4/33) was a stunner with the ball and Gill’s run out was definitely a significant demerit for GT which was also emphasized by Miller. “Yeah, I mean, it is difficult when you are losing wickets throughout. Well, especially in the first 10 overs, we were under the pump. But, I mean, I think there were one or two brilliant moments there from the (Punjab) Kings, with Gill getting run out with a direct hit – you never, sort of, wish that upon anyone. And then, once you start losing a couple of wickets, you are always behind the eight-ball,” Miller added.
