All the matches of the series will be held in the city of Patna. The other two participating nations would be Bangladesh and Thailand. Starting from the 16 January, the T20 series will have 8 matches, with the final being played on the 22 January. Interestingly, the match for the third and fourth place will be held on the same day too.
Priya Punia, along with Madhuri Mehta are the members of the A-team with prior international experience. The captain of the side, Devika Vaidya, also is new in the international set-up and has played only 10 matches in the international circuit so far. The B team will be led by the 12 international matches old, Sneh Rana along with the wicketkeeper-batsman, Nuzhat Parween being a valuable addition to the squad.
India A will lock horns with Bangladesh in the opening match
The opening match of the tournament will be played between India A (W) and Bangladesh (W) followed by India B (W) taking on Thailand (W) later in the day. A total of 6 matches will be played in the 4 days of the tournament, with the top two teams making it to the finals.
Playing on their home turf, both the teams will be looking to make it to finals and make the cup stay within the country itself. The women in blue, taking inspiration from the senior team that won the T20 series in the Caribbean 5-0, will also be looking to give their best performances and pave their way into the senior squad.
