Dinesh Karthik is missing his wife Dipika Pallikal on England tour
He is expected to don the gloves in the first Test against England.
Team India is currently on a long tour of the United Kingdom. After a closely fought limited-overs leg, they are set to lock horns in the five-match Test series against England. It becomes tough for the cricketers sometimes to spare time for their family and to make things worse, the BCCI has not allowed the WAGs for the first 3 Tests of the series. Dinesh Karthik who is expected to don the gloves in the whites is already missing his beloved wife Dipika Pallikal.
Karthik warmed up nicely in the practice game against Essex with a wonderful knock of 82 runs and will replace Wriddhiman Saha behind the wickets. He is in a good frame of mind in his career at the moment and would definitely love to contribute more in the upcoming Test series.
However, it seems that he is missing the love of his life Dipika Pallikal so much ahead of the series opener in Birmingham. He recalled a moment of togetherness with her by posting an adorable picture and captioned it with a message which read, “Missing my lady @dipikapallikal.”
Career changing moment
Dinesh Karthik has experienced a lot of ups and downs in his career so far. But the way he has made a comeback is really commendable. His sensational finishing skills came to the fore during the Nidahas Trophy in Sri Lanka. His brilliant knock 29 runs off just 8 balls in the final of the tournament won the game for India against Bangladesh. The blitzkrieg changed his career completely as he has sealed his place in the limited-overs side.
Karthik has a great chance now to cement himself in the Test side with his competitor Saha likely to miss the Australia tour as well. If he manages to perform in England, then nobody can stop him from travelling down under later this year. It remains to be seen if he can replicate the similar kind of form which he showed in the warm-up game in the Test series.
