Team India’s performance against England in the first ODI at the Kennington Oval got every cricket fan on the edge of their seats. After putting the English team to bat first, Indian bowlers stormed through England’s batting lineup and restricted them to mere 110 runs in the innings. Of the whole lot, four batters bagged a duck, courtesy of Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Shami.

Bumrah was the standout bowler for India, as he scalped six wickets in total and was a major reason behind India’s victory. He was well supported by Shami, who picked up three wickets during his spell. While Bumrah was bowling a destructive spell on the field, his wife Sanjana Ganesan, who is a presenter by profession, took a dig at the English team off the field.

In a video shared by Sony Sports Network, the official broadcaster of the series, Sanjana hilariously trolled the English batters who were dismissed for a duck in the game. She was seen walking through the food court, with a ‘Duck Wrap’ in hand at the Kennington Oval and stood beside a stall named “Crispy Duck”.

“The food area is a busy place. It is chock-a-block full of a lot of English fans because they don’t want to watch the cricket and there are plenty of stalls here. There are pies, hot dogs, and typical match day food. We’ve come to a stall that not a lot of the English batters would like to come to. It’s called the Crispy Duck. We’ve got a duck wrap with us; we want to see how good the duck is off the field because the ducks on the field have been absolutely fantastic,” she said in the video.

Four English batters bagged a duck within eight overs of play

Jason Roy and Jonny Bairstow opened the batting for England. Bumrah got the first breakthrough for India as he dismissed the former for a five-ball duck. Joe Root, who walked to bat at No. 3 was dismissed for a two-ball duck as Bumrah struck twice in his first over. Ben Stokes bagged a golden duck as Shami picked up his first of the day in the third over.

Bumrah then dismissed Liam Livingstone for an eight-ball duck in the eighth over. Slowly and steadily, England’s batting lineup crumbled like a cookie and India got the upper hand over the hosts. In response, Indian openers Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan chased down the score with ease and India won the game by 10 wickets.
