Dwayne Bravo laments not playing cricket in front of CSK fans
The 34-year old is the self-proclaimed 'Champion Thalla'.
Dwayne Bravo and several other cricketers within the Chennai Super Kings camp have lamented the fact that they are not playing in front of their home crowd in Chennai. However, despite that, MS Dhoni and his band of merry men have seemingly found their home away from home in Pune following the political unrest in the state of Tamil Nadu. The former statement has ceased to hamper them as well as they are playing some of the best cricket upon their return to the Indian Premier League.
Speaking to the media, the former West Indies skipper went ahead and expressed disappointment over not playing in front of their home crowd. He also added that the CSK fans who have travelled to Pune to watch the side have his utmost gratitude.
“It was sad that we had to leave Chennai suddenly because the city was waiting for the last two years for this opportunity. They got the only one opportunity to see us play only one game in Chennai. The team feels bad about it. We don’t have control over what is going on there,’ he said.
Bravo continued, “CSK fans came all the way from Chennai to Pune to see us play. The stands are always filled with yellow jerseys. The fact that people travel for so long hours on the train just to see us play says it all about fan love. Sadly, we are not playing in Chennai but at the same time, we are still able to make Pune our home and winning games. And that is the most important thing.”
I am ‘Champion Thalla’ proclaims Bravo
On a rather funny and jovial note, Bravo went ahead and added that he might not have a nickname, but went ahead and stated that he was ‘Champion Thalla’ following his world-famous Champion song. MS Dhoni is Thalla Dhoni while Suresh Raina is ‘Chinna Thalla’.
