Economical XI of IPL 2015: IPL 2015 showed many players who performed really well despite of the price they got in the auctions. Here we look at the team formed by players who performed exceptionally well irrespective of the salary cap. Here goes the Economical XI of IPL 2015: 1 – Shreyas Iyer: Shreyas Iyer DD. (Photo Source: BCCI) Mumbai lad Shreyas Iyer has turned out to be the emerging player of the tournament. He was bought by Delhi Daredevils for 2.6 Crores but performed exceptionally well, way better than the players who earned more than him. He scored 439 runs in 14 games at an average of 33.76 with help of 4 fifties and hit 21 sixes. 2 – Sarfaraz Khan: Sarfaraz Khan RCB. (Photo Source: BCCI) Sarfaraz Khan is now the youngest player to play IPL after Royal Challengers Bangalore bought him for 50 Lakhs at the auctions. He outplayed his top order batsmen in a couple of games with his fear less game. Sarfaraz scored 111 runs at an average of 27.75 and a strike rate of 156.33. 3 – Eoin Morgan: Eoin Morgan SRH. (Photo Source: BCCI) Eoin Morgan, the England batsman who struggled at the start of the season came back well to play a couple of cameo innings. Bought by Sunrisers Hyderabad for 1.5 Crores, Morgan scored 187 runs in 9 innings at an average of 23.37 including a fifty which earned him a man of the match award. 4 – Ravi Bopara: Ravi Bopara SRH. (Photo Source: BCCI) The England all-rounder Ravi Bopara turned out to be surprise package for the Sunrisers Hyderabad, they had picked him for 1 crore in the IPL auction. Bopara who played over the likes of Steyn and Boult did a decent job with both bat and ball. He scored 145 runs in the 8 innings at an average of 29 and picked up 6 wickets in the 9 games with his slow pace. 5 – Hardik Pandya: Hardik Pandya MI. (Photo Source: BCCI) Hardik Pandya was one of the crucial aspect in Mumbai Indians’ brilliant comeback. With his batting, he turned two games towards his side and won the man of the match awards. He scored 112 runs in the 9 games that he played at a strike rate of 180.64. Pandya did a decent job with the ball but could manage to pick only 1 wicket. 6 – Albie Morkel: Albie Morkel DD. (Photo Source: BCCI) Delhi Daredevils signed in Albie Morkel for just 30 Lakhs and could give him only 4 games to play. However, Morkel played far better than his price as he scored 86 runs which had an unbeaten 73 against CSK in his side’s 1st league game and picked up 3 wickets in the 4 games. 7 – David Wiese: David Wiese RCB. (Photo Source: BCCI) Probably one of the better buys by Royal Challengers Bangalore in this year’s auction as they rooted David Wiese in for 2.8 Crores, the South African all-rounder performed far better than the expectations with both bat and ball. Wiese picked up 16 wickets in 14 matches at a strike rate of 15.8 and scored 122 runs at an average of 30.50 and a strike rate of 141.86. 8 – Jagadeesha Suchith: Jagadeesha Suchith MI. (Photo Source: BCCI) Karnataka left arm spinner Jagdeesha Suchith played a crucial part in Mumbai Indians’ success, he was bought by MI for just 10 Lakhs. Suchith’s contributed for his side along with Harbhajan Singh with both ball and bat. He picked up 10 wickets in 13 games and scored 48 runs at a strike rate of 150 which included an innings of 34 with at the other end Harbhajan which helped them put-up a 100 run stand vs KXIP. 9 – Christopher Morris: Chris Morris RR. (Photo Source: BCCI) The South African all-rounder Chris Morris was bought by Rajasthan Royals for 1.4 Crores but performed descently well with both bat and ball. Morris picked up 13 wickets in the 11 matches he played at an average of 23.92 and scored 76 runs at an average of 38 in the 7 innings he batted scoring at a striking rate of 165.21. 10 – Brad Hogg: Brad Hogg KKR. (Photo Source: BCCI) The veteran Australian Chinaman Brad Hogg made a late entry into the tournament but shined well with the ball. Picked for 50 Lakhs by Kolkata Knight Riders in auctions, Hogg played 6 matches in the season. He picked up 9 wickets at a strike rate of 14 and an average of 16 along with a 4 wicket haul. He conceded runs at an economy rate of just 6.85. 11 – Mitchell McClenaghan: Mitchell McClenaghan MI. (Photo Source: BCCI) New Zealand left arm pacer Micthell McClenaghan proved to be the best bet by Mumbai Indians who picked him for just 30 Lakhs but the performance he delivered, absolutely deserves more than what his salary was. The left arm’s partnership along with Lasith Malinga turned the tables for his side as MI won 10 out of 12 games after McClenaghan’s inclusion. He picked up 18 wickets in just 12 games at a strike rate of 15.6.
