Emerging Teams Asia Cup 2019: BCCI announces squad for the tournament, Kamlesh Nagarkoti makes his comeback

India is currently flooded with talented cricketers from grassroots to international. Now, BCCI has come up with a great squad for ACC Emerging Teams Asia Cup. This will be the 4th season that will take place and consists of eight teams from different nations that will be divided into two groups. The tournament is scheduled to be played in Bangladesh in November.

In 2018 Emerging Teams Asia Cup, Sri Lanka defeated India in a close encounter by three runs in the final. for 2019 tournament, Nagarkoti has been included in the team who has recovered from his injury. The fine young pacer got into the spotlight after India’s triumphant campaign at the U19 World Cup in New Zealand last year.

Nagarkoti’s last first-class appearance came in Vijay Hazare Trophy 2018 and he became the first bowler to take hat-trick for Rajasthan in List A match. Nagarkoti picked the headlines when he was picked by Kolkata Knight Riders during the IPL 2018 Auction but due to a stress injury, he got himself ruled out of the mega event.

BR Sharath will be the skipper of the team

BR Sharath who is a wicketkeeper-batsman has been named as the skipper of the team for the tournament. Other than him selectors have included some new faces in the squad like Vinayak Gupta, Yash Rathod, and Arshdeep Singh. Vinayak Gupta has been awarded for his brilliant performances in Men’s cricket U23 One Day league and Knockout 2018-19 tournament in which he scored with an average of 102.80 and managed to get 514 runs in his eight innings.

Yash Rathod is a Vidarbha middle-order batsman, who played some astonishing knocks during U19 Cooch Behar Trophy 2018 where he got four hundreds and two fifties during the tournament remained successful in finding his place in the team. Arshdeep Singh is an interesting inclusion in the team who featured for Kings XI Punjab during IPL 2019, where he bagged two big wickets of Jos Buttler and Ajinkya Rahane against Rajasthan Royals.
