Rajasthan Royals’ cricketer Riyan Parag has predicted that Indian skipper and batting maestro Virat Kohli will score a century in the second innings of the third Test match at Headingley.

The right-handed Kohli fell cheaply in the first innings of the third Test. To a delivery that was bowled outside the off stump by James Anderson, Kohli went for the drive, the ball took the outside edge, and the master batsman walked back to the pavilion after scoring just 7 runs.

Parag took to Twitter and tweeted that Kohli will score a ton for the Indian side in the second innings. “Virat Kohli 100 2nd innings lesgoo,” tweeted Parag.

Virat Kohli last scored an international century in November 2019

Virat Kohli is currently going through arguably one of the leanest phases of his career. In fact, the last time that Kohli scored a century in international cricket was way back in November 2019, when he hit a masterly 136 against Bangladesh at Eden Gardens in Kolkata.

Since then, he has not managed to cross the three-figure mark even once in international cricket across all formats put together. Also, in the ongoing Test series against England, the right-handed batting colossus has not scored even a single half-century after playing 4 innings in this series so far.

Also, on 3 occasions, Kohli has not crossed the 30-run mark as well. As far as the third Test match is concerned, the England side has gained a stranglehold of the match. The Joe Root-led side ended Day 2 with their scorecard reading 423/8, and they currently lead India by a whopping 345 runs.

India produced a shambolic performance with the willow in the first innings of the third Test match and were bowled out for a paltry total of just 78 runs. None of the Indian willow wielders could even cross the 20-run mark in the first innings of the third Test match. James Anderson was the pick of the bowlers for England. In the 8 overs that he bowled, Anderson leaked just 6 runs, and also picked up 3 wickets as well.
