India spin ace Ravichandran Ashwin is good not only the field but also on the social media. Time and again, Ashwin has showed his remarkable sense of humour on Twitter and has also made many pay for messing with him. In his latest act, the Tamil Nadu man has come up with a hilarious reply after one of his followers came up with an interesting theory regarding the World Cup pitches.

It all started when the individual opined that England is getting easier pitches in the ongoing tournament at their home. He opined that all the other teams except England and their opponent on a particular day are getting pitches that have a good amount of grass covering. According to ICC rules, the pitches should be standard and not in favour of the home teams. However, the individual, named Sriram Krishnamurthy was convinced that England are getting an unfair advantage, tweeting:

“How is it that every other pitch barring the ones England play on has a good amount of grass covering? #CWC19”

Ashwin was quick to notice the tweet and made a witty comment. The off-spinner, who was part of India’s squad for the Champions Trophy in England two years ago, wrote:

“Conspiracy theories.. But what’s life without the spice??????”

Well, England has been the most impressive side with the bat in the tournament so far. They have played two games and have scored more than 300 in both of them although they lost their second game against Pakistan. Chasing an improbable 349 against Pakistan, England finished on 334 for 9. But unlike England, the likes of Pakistan and Sri Lanka have struggled in their opening encounters. Pakistan was all out for 105 against West Indies while Sri Lanka was all out for just 136 against New Zealand.

Ashwin gearing up for county stint in England

Ravichandran Ashwin, meanwhile, will have a chance to look at the pitches from a close range when he flies out to England for the County season. He will play for Nottinghamshire for the second half of the county season. Ashwin will replace Australia’s James Pattinson as Nottinghamshire’s overseas player at the end of June.
