England head coach Chris Silverwood tests positive for Covid-19
The ECB released a statement which stated that Silverwood is asymptomatic and is also vaccinated as well.
England’s head coach Chris Silverwood has now returned a positive result for Covid-19. Silverwood will now isolate himself in Melbourne till 8th January 2022.
The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) released a statement which stated that Silverwood is asymptomatic and is also vaccinated as well. The statement further added that Silverwood will join the England Test side in Hobart for the 5th and final Ashes Test match.
“He will remain in isolation until January 8. Silverwood is asymptomatic and is fully vaccinated. He is expected to return to the England party in Hobart ahead of the fifth Ashes Test,” read the statement released by the ECB.

Zak Crawley stated that England now have a lot of support staff missing. Adding that the England players have helped each other out, Crawley stated that the England contingent has pulled through this predicament. The right-handed batter concluded by stating that he is eager to play the final 2 Ashes Test matches against Australia.
“We’ve had a lot of support staff missing. But the lads have all worked together today, we’ve tried to all help out. We’ve all pulled together and have pulled through. We haven’t got long left. I can’t speak for everyone on that but I want to play the two Tests,” concluded Crawley.
For Australia, Travis Head tested positive for Covid-19, and will not take part in the New Year’s Test match. The 4th Ashes Test match will commence on 5th January 2022 at the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG). Australia have already retained the urn, and are 3-0 up in the series.
