England showed their batting strength in limited overs format as they broke down the highest ODI total record after electing to bat only to produce a run feast at the Trent Bridge, Nottingham. England posted 444/3 in 50 overs thanks to a 171 by Alex Hales, breaking the country record for highest score by an individual in ODIs. In reply, Pakistan were bowled out for 275 in the 43rd over. Opener Sharjeel and No.11 Amir scored quickfire fifties. Here we look at all the stats and records recorded during the game.

5 – Since June 2015, the number of times Adil Rashid has conceded more than 70 runs in an ODI. Since World Cup 2015, no other bowler has conceded 70+ runs in an ODI more than 3 times.

5 – Joe Root has scored 5 consecutive fifty-plus scores in ODIs. All the 5 times, he got out without converting it to century. Only 4 players before Joe Root got out scoring fifties in 5 consecutive innings in ODIs.

5 – Mohammad Amir’s 58 is the joint highest in Pakistan’s innings. This is the 5th instance of a No.11 player top scoring in his team’s inning sin ODIs.

7 – England’s innings was the 7th instance in ODIs where two 150+ stands were recorded. This is the first such instance recorded by England.

16 – Number of sixes England hit in this match, the most they have hit in an ODI. Previous highest was 15 sixes vs South Africa in February 2016 at Bloemfontein.

22 – Balls taken by Jos Buttler for his fifty, the fastest by an England player in ODIs. Previous fastest was 25-ball fifty by Moeen Ali vs Sri Lanka in 2014.

22 – Balls faced by Mohammad Amir for his fifty. This is the joint fastest fifty by a Pakistani player excluding Shahid Afridi in ODIs.

22 – Mohammad Amir’s 22-ball fifty is now the fastest fifty by a No.9 or lower batsman in ODIs. Previous fastest was 25-ball fifty by Brendon McCullum while batting at No.9 vs Australia at Christchurch in 2005.

46.4 – Overs taken by England for bringing up the 400 mark. This is the joint fastest to 400-mark in ODI cricket. South Africa also took 46.4 overs during their 438/9 against Australia in 2006.

58 – Runs scored by Mohammad Amir in this game while batting at No.11, the highest score by a No.11 batsman in ODIs. Previous best was 43 by Shoaib Akhtar also vs England in 2003.

248 – Alex Hales and Joe Root’s 248-run stand for the second wicket is the third highest stand for any wicket in ODIs for England. This is also the highest stand for any team against Pakistan in ODIs for any wicket, overhauling 238-run stand by Amla and de Villiers in 2013.

268 – Runs scored in boundaries during England’s innings, 2nd most in an ODI innings. South Africa scored 272 runs against India at Mumbai in 2015.

444/3 – England’s total of 444/3 in this game is now the highest total in ODI cricket. They went past Sri Lanka’s 443/9 vs Netherlands in 2006. England’s total is now the 3rd highest total in List A cricket and 2nd highest at Nottingham.
