England, who have been unbeaten over the last few years at home, will host West Indies who have dropped a lot in terms of Test credentials in recent times to be placed at No.8 in ICC rankings. This will be the first series between the two sides in two years and the first in England since 2012. The hosts are on a high coming into this contest after beating South Africa in a Test series (3-1) at home for the first time in 20 years.

2000 – The last instance when West Indies won a Test match in England was back in 2000 at Birmingham, the venue of the first Test of this series. Their last victory before that game in England had also come at Birmingham in 1995.
