621 – James Anderson became the third-highest wicket-taker in Test matches. He went past Indian leg-spinner Anil Kumble’s tally of 619 wickets by dismissing KL Rahul. Anderson went onto take one more wicket, extending his count to 621 scalps in the format. Only Muthiah Muralidaran (800) and Shane Warne (708) are ahead of him now.
88 – Anderson now has 88 Test wickets against India in England, most for any bowler against an opposition in home Tests. He surpassed veteran off-spinner Harbhajan Singh, who took 87 Australian wickets on England soil.
53 – Ravindra Jadeja became the fifth-fastest all-rounder to achieve the double of 2000 runs & 200 wickets in Test matches. He took 53 innings to get the landmark. Notably, Ravichandran Ashwin (51) and Kapil Dev (50) got the milestone faster than the southpaw.
45.50 – Among Indian batters with over 100 runs, Jadeja has the highest batting average in overseas Tests since 2017. He has scored runs at 45.50 in this period.
84 – KL Rahul’s total of 84 is the fourth-highest total by an Indian opener in England Tests since 2011. Interestingly, Rahul only tops this list. He scored 149 at Oval during the 2018 tour.
5 – England pacer scalped his maiden five-wicket haul in Test matches. His best figures were 4/75 against New Zealand before this clash.
28 – Jasprit Bumrah recorded his highest score in Test matches, slamming 28 off 34 deliveries. His highest Test score was an unbeaten 10 before this game.
585 – Rishabh Pant became India’s highest scorer in Test matches this year. His entertaining 25 enhanced his tally to 585 runs in Test matches. Notably, his average and strike rate has been over 50 and 70 respectively this year.
