England vs India: Amitabh Bachchan feels India exterminated their opponent
Kuldeep and Rohit starred in India's victory yesterday.
India are currently plying their trade in England a three-match ODI series. The first contest was played at Trent Bridge in Nottingham and the visitors beat the Brits by eight wickets to take a 1-0 lead in the series. The venue is renowned to be a bowler’s graveyard courtesy of the scores racked up there in limited-overs cricket over the past four years.
After winning the toss and electing to field first, the Men in Blue stuttered in the first ten overs as Jason Roy and Jonny Bairstow took the Indian attack by the scruff of their necks and piled on 73 runs in 62 balls. However, Kuldeep Yadav brought his team back into the match with three quick wickets. Meanwhile, the Poms were reduced to 105/4 inside 20 overs.
Eoin Morgan, the skipper also couldn’t make any impact with the willow. Jos Buttler and Ben Stokes put on 93 runs for the fifth wicket and pulled their side out of the precarious position. Kuldeep broke the stand as MS Dhoni took a sharp catch down the leg side to get rid of Buttler. The chinaman bowler also removed Stokes to leave the home team in utter shambles and they eventually ended with 268 runs.

During the run chase, Virat’s troops were convincing and never allowed England to get a foothold into the match. Rohit Sharma blazed away to his 18th ODI century and remained not out till the very end. Virat Kohli would be gutted on missing out on his 36th ODI ton on the flat track, but his knock of 75 runs in a partnership of 167 runs with Rohit made sure that India don’t suffer any hiccup en route the triumph.
Following the sensational victory, legendary Bollywood actor Amitabh Bachchan took to Twitter and praised the team for their resounding performance. He wrote, “T 2865 – and .. CONGRATULATIONS , Indian Cricket Team .. yet another sensational seasoned scintillating win over England in 1st ODI .. ekdum pachad daala .. #RohitSharma , #KuldeepYadav , you are genius !!”
