Murugan Ashwin, who was picked by Delhi Daredevils in the IPL 2017 auction feels every opportunity at any level counts. The bowler was paid a whopping Rs. 1 crore by the franchise only to bench him for the entire season. Earlier in 2016 he was a part of the Rising Pune Supergiants and played a few games under the leadership of MS Dhoni.

The leg-spinner was seen bowling at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai; the Indian team nets to the likes of Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma along with the rookies. He was also greeted by his IPL teammate Ajinkya Rahane as he walked into the arena to bowl. The bowler was not disappointed with the fact that he didn’t get any opportunity to play in the IPL last season but was elated to have rubbed shoulders with the legends of the game.

TNCA called me to bowl to the batsmen

In an interview to sportstarlive, Ashwin cleared that he was called by Tamil Nadu Cricket Association (TNCA) to bowl at the nets. He also bowled his leggies to the Australian batsmen “The Tamil Nadu Cricket Association (TNCA) had called me to bowl at the nets. That’s why I came here. “I bowled to the Australian batsmen. They wanted some leggie to bowl them, that’s why I was asked to come. It was a good experience,” M Ashwin said.

He also said that he feels no harm in bowling in the nets and counted every opportunity at this level as important for his career. “Every opportunity counts. What’s the harm if I bowl in the nets? The idea is to be in the game and I am just doing that. It doesn’t matter if I have played the IPL or not. I am always game for new things,” the Tamil Nadu cricketer added before leaving.

The 27-year-old leggie plays for Dindigul Dragons in Tamil Nadu Premier League and has played in 25 T20s so far across the leagues.
