Fan asks Jimmy Neesham whether he would like to play in BPL, all-rounder responds
Neesham being Neesham gave a clear cut answer.
There is little denying that cricket fans from across the world eagerly wait for tweets from Jimmy Neesham. The reason for the same is not a secret any more. The New Zealand all-rounder is one of the most popular cricketers on the social media because of his humorous tweets. No matter what the situation is, the Black Caps star comes up with a tweet that leaves others in splits.
Perhaps this is the reason why the fans want to see the left-handed batsman play in their country. Recently, one Bangladesh fan asked Jimmy Neesham whether he is interested in playing in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL). The conversation started after Neesham told one fan that he would love to play in The Hundred in England.
The Hundred would get underway next summer with eight city-based teams participating in it. The format will see each team playing a maximum of 100 balls. The ECB has already released the first draft of players which include some big names from across the globe. The likes of Eoin Morgan, David Warner, Steve Smith, Chris Gayle and other feature in the list.
This is when the fan asked Neesham about his opinion on playing in Bangladesh.
In reply, Neesham being Neesham gave a clear cut answer. He said that while he would prefer playing in Bangladesh, he is not sure about what’s going on with the tournament. He also said that it would be tough for him to make time for the tournament due to his commitments with New Zealand, writing: “I would but I’m not sure what’s happening with that competition now. Also it’s hard to fit in around NZ’s home summer 🤷♂️”
Start of BPL uncertain:
Earlier this week, Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) media committee chairman Jalal Yunus stated that the board is not sure over when they will be able to start the BPL. Last month, BCB president Nazmul Hasan Papon had announced that the tournament would get underway on December 6. However, there is no clarity over the same at the moment.
