Fans hit back at Suryakumar Yadav for liking a meme criticising Virat Kohli and the Indian selectors
Yadav liking such controversial tweets didn't go well with many cricket fans.
Mumbai Indians swashbuckling top-order batsman Suryakumar Yadav is once again in the news, however, this time for all the wrong reasons. Surya has created havoc in the cricket fraternity by liking a meme on Twitter which was criticising Indian skipper Virat Kohli and the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).
The meme was from a Tamil drama-thriller Master. It showcased Hitman (Rohit Sharma) fighting with the BCCI selectors, Paper Captain (Virat Kohli) and haters. The previous month, India’s opening batsman Rohit Sharma was left out of the Indian squad for the India tour of Australia owing to his hamstring injury.
However, the situation took an interesting turn when Rohit returned to the match field and started playing for his IPL franchise Mumbai Indians (MI) after sitting out for four games. Seeing this development, the selectors added Sharma in the four-match Border Gavaskar Trophy against Australia, starting from December 17 in Adelaide.
Suryakumar Yadav trolled brutally on Twitter
A few days back former Indian captain and BCCI had also clarified that Rohit is just 70% fit and hence has been rested for the limited-overs series comprising three-match ODI and T20I series. While the Indian cricketers boarded the flight to Sydney from Dubai after the conclusion of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2020), the MI skipper returned back to India.
Meanwhile, Suryakumar Yadav liking such controversial tweets didn’t go well with many cricket fans and they roasted the youngster on Twitter. Though the Mumbai stalwart had unliked the tweet later, it was too late as many had already noticed this activity of Suryakumar.
After this incident, many felt that the 30-year-old doesn’t deserve a chance in the Indian team and he is better off playing in the IPL only. Some fans went as far as dragging Rohit in this whole scenario.
Yadav was in splendid form in the 13th edition of the T20 Championship and it was speculated that the batter would be making his much-awaited debut for the Men in Blue. However, contrary to the popular belief, the right-handed batsman hailing from Mumbai didn’t find a spot in the national squad for the tour of Australia.
Suryakumar has smashed 480 runs in 16 games at an average of 40 and strike rate of 145.01 in IPL 2020 for his franchise Mumbai Indians. He also scored four half-centuries with unbeaten 79 being his highest score.
