Fans react to ICC’s question on MS Dhoni’s fireworks at the 2020 T20 World Cup

MS Dhoni has an aura that he has built over the years. Many term him as one of the best brains in the history of the game. In fact, he is the only captain to win all three ICC trophies. He is also India’s most successful captain across all the formats. The former Indian skipper has also made a name for himself with the bat. He is deemed as one of the best finishers to have played the game.

It’s been almost 15 years since MS Dhoni arrived on the international scene and many of them have tipped the 2019 World Cup to be his last hurrah in international cricket. However, he has been very unpredictable and you can expect the unexpected from Dhoni.

In the recent past, he’s been in good form, both for India and his IPL franchise Chennai Super Kings. CSK coach Stephen Fleming felt MS Dhoni’s leadership skills are second to none and those are some huge shoes to fill when he’s not around. Hence, ICC T20 World Cup quoted Fleming’s comment to which ICC retweeted and asked, “Do you wish to see fireworks from @msdhoni’s willow at the 2020 T20 World Cup?”

Fans react affirmatively while answering ICC’s question

MS Dhoni was the first ever captain to win the ICC T20 World Cup back in 2007. The Jharkhand-born keeper led a young Indian team to the title in the absence of some of the big stars. Since then, as a captain, he’s had his ups and downs but he’s been one of the best.

With the willow, his finishing powers seem to be on the wane. Dhoni had a terrible 2018 but this year he seems to be back winning games for India. He won the Man of the Series award in Australia for his three back to back half-centuries. While there were calls for him to be ousted from the team in 2018, he has let his bat do all the talking.
