Kandy had a horrible start which only went on to get worse from there. By the end, they could only score 97 runs and lost the match by a huge margin of 83 runs.

Dambulla Aura had played against Jaffna Kings in their last match, where Jaffna Kings won the toss and elected to bat. The Kings had a good start, with their top order looking in good touch. However, they were scoring at a little slower rate, and when the top order fell, it got tough for the middle order to score runs, and they could only manage 129 runs. Dambulla had a fantastic start to their chase and were cruising ahead to the target. They needed just 16 overs and had won the match by eight wickets by then.
