Dambulla Aura (DA) will lock horns with Galle Titans (GT) in the 14th match of the Lanka Premier League 2023 at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium in Pallekele on August 8. Dambulla Aura have played five matches, won three games, and are at the top of the table. On the other hand, Galle Titans have played four games where they have won and lost two matches each and are second in the rankings.

Dambulla Aura had played against Jaffna Kings in their last match, where Jaffna Kings won the toss and elected to bowl. Dambulla had a horrible start losing both their openers on ducks each. That is when Samarawickrama and Perera joined hands to stitch together a good partnership and helped their team out of the deep waters. They managed to put up a decent total of 134 runs at the loss of eight wickets. This would not have been too challenging a total for the Kings, but they lost four wickets early on, which pushed them back in the game, and they could actually never recover from it. Kings lost the match by a close call of nine runs.

Galle Titans had played against B-Love Kandy in their last match, where Galle Titans won the toss and elected to bowl. Kandy made a cautious start but started batting aggressively after the fall of the first wicket. As the innings progressed, they went completely bonkers and smashed bowlers all around the park and finished with 203 runs on the board. The Titans did not start well and lost wickets in a bunch. Before they could realise anything, they had already lost six wickets by the time they scored 47 runs. There was some resistance down the order, but it proved to be too little too late, as they lost the match by 89 runs.
