Durban Super Giants (DSG) will lock horns with Sunrisers Eastern Cape (SUNE) in the 12th match of the SA20 2024 at the Kingsmead in Durban on January 20. Super Giants has done a great job so far being placed at the second position with three wins to their name, while Sunrisers Eastern Cape have won and lost a game each being placed third in the table. 

Super Giants squared off against Pretoria Capitals in their last encounter, where Pretoria Capitals won the toss and elected to bat. Capitals went berserk with their innings as they smashed 75 runs for the opening stand in five overs. They kept losing wickets throughout their innings but also kept the scoring rate up and as a result smashed 204 runs in the innings. Giants had a decent start to the chase but were far below the required scoring rate. They did score aggressively towards the end but it all proved to be too little too late as they fell short of the target by 17 runs.

Sunrisers Eastern Cape played against MI Cape Town in their last match where Sunrisers Eastern Cape won the toss and elected to bat. Sunrisers had a sensational start as they amassed 138 runs for the first wicket in 13 overs. The scoring did dip a little but they were able to overcome and post a huge total of 202 runs on the board. Cape Town had a brilliant start as well. After a century partnership, they lost a couple of wickets in quick succession but they accelerated again towards the end which made the match interesting. It happened so that they were short of the target by four runs and lost the game.
