Player Picks
Virat Kohli IND | BAT
In the last game against Afghanistan, Virat Kohli scored the 71st century of his career and is likely to continue with the same intensity in this game as well as the series. He likes playing against Australia in T20Is and has scored 718 runs in 19 matches at an average of 59.83 which includes seven half-centuries.
Glenn Maxwell AUS | ALL
The last time India and Australia played a T20I game in India, Glenn Maxwell won the Player of the Match award. He made 113* runs off just 55 deliveries in that game and helped Australia chase a target of 191 in 19.4 overs. He has made 173 runs in 8 matches this year at a strike rate of 132.06 and will be looking to accumulate some more runs before going for the T20 World Cup next month.
Hardik Pandya IND | ALL
In the first game of the Asia Cup against Pakistan, Hardik Pandya delivered a match-winning performance with both bat and ball. However, he has not been the same since that game and was dismissed for a duck against the same opponent in a crucial Super Four game. Considering the way, Pandya has played in recent times, it won’t be difficult for him to find his rhythm back.
Jasprit Bumrah IND | BOWL
The third-highest wicket-taker for India in the shortest format of the game has played only 3 matches this year. He missed the Asia Cup due to an injury and this will be his comeback series. He will be playing a key role for the team with the ball during the death overs.
Josh Hazlewood AUS | BOWL
He is just 4 wickets away from becoming the third Australian bowler to pick 50 wickets in T20Is. In 30 matches, Hazlewood has picked 46 wickets at an average of 18.02. During the first seven years of his career, Hazlewood was not considered a T20 bowler and he managed to play only 9 matches. However, he has become a force to reckon with in the last 2 years. Since 2021, Hazlewood has picked 37 wickets in 21 matches at an average of 13.45.
Suryakumar Yadav IND | BAT
He is the only Indian batter who has scored over 500 runs in T20Is this year. The 32-year-old right-handed batter has made 567 runs in 17 innings at an average of 37.8. He has been dismissed for a single-digit score only once in the last 10 matches.
Cameron Green AUS | ALL
He is not among the players who have been selected for the T20 World Cup next year, however, Green will be looking to impress everyone with his performance in this series to have a slight chance. He has been adjudged as an ‘all-format’ player by several current and former players.
Tim David AUS | BAT
He is surely the most important player for Australia for the next couple of months. David has already played 127 T20 matches and has scored over 2700 runs. He has played in most of the major T20 leagues and has proved his worth everywhere. David will be the X-factor for Australia in this series as well as the upcoming T20 World Cup.
Bhuvneshwar Kumar IND | BOWL
He is the leading wicket-taker for India in T20Is. He has picked 84 wickets in 77 matches at an average of 21.73. In the last game against Afghanistan, he delivered his career best bowling performance as he picked 5 wickets for just 4 runs. This was the second fifer of his T20I career.
Avoid Having These Players In Your Fantasy Sports Team
Rishabh Pant
IND | WK
India is likely to prefer him as the wicketkeeper in this game to have a left-handed batter in the playing 11. However, his recent performances in T20Is have not been up to the mark and hence, you can avoid picking him in your team for this game.
Ashton Agar
AUS | ALL
This will be his first T20I game against India despite playing a total of 46 matches. In 6 matches this year, he has picked just 4 wickets at an average of 30.5.
