New Zealand Women will take on Sri Lanka Women in the opening T20I match of the Sri Lanka Women tour of New Zealand. This match will be played at Hagley Oval in Christchurch. After winning the ODI series with a dominant whitewash at home, the New Zealand women’s team is gearing up for the first T20I against Sri Lanka, set to take place on Friday, March 14.

New Zealand Women outclassed Sri Lanka in the three-match ODI series with a 2-0 victory. The first match ended in a no result due to rain, but New Zealand bounced back in the second, securing a commanding 78-run win thanks to Maddy Green's brilliant century and Eden Carson’s four-wicket haul. In the third ODI, Sri Lanka endured an even heavier defeat, losing by 98 runs.

Both these teams have plenty of talented players in the shorter format who will be keen to put up a good show and this promises to be a thrilling match between these two sides at this venue.
