Paarl Royals (PR) will take on Joburg Super Kings (JSK) in the 9th match of SA20 2024 on Wednesday (January 17) at the Boland Park in Paarl. Royals are ranked second with two wins in two matches. The Royals faced Pretoria Capitals in their last match, where the Capitals won the toss and elected to bowl. Royals lost their first wicket for just seven runs. David Miller and Mitchell Van Buuren added 141 runs for the fourth wicket after the Royals lost three wickets for 69 runs. Both the batters made 70-plus runs each. Royals posted a total of 210 runs for the loss of three wickets on the board. Adil Rashid, James Neesham, and Daryn Dupavillon picked one wicket each for Capitals.

Capitals lost their first two wickets for just four runs. Rilee Rossouw and Will Jacks had a partnership of 147 runs for the third wicket. Jacks made 58 runs off 34 deliveries and Rossouw scored 82 runs off 45 deliveries. No other batter managed to make more than 20 runs for the team. Capitals could make 200 runs for the loss of seven wickets and lost the match by 10 runs.

The Super Kings locked horns against Durban Super Giants in their last match, where the Super Giants won the toss and elected to bat. Super Giants lost four wickets for just 34 runs. Heinrich Klaasen played a knock of 64 runs off 41 deliveries and was the highest scorer. His innings helped the Super Giants post a total of 145 runs for the loss of eight wickets. Lizaad Williams was the pick of the bowlers for the Super Kings and took four wickets for 26 runs in four overs.

Faf du Plessis and Reeza Hendricks added 33 runs for the first wicket before du Plessis was dismissed for seven runs off 17 deliveries. Super Kings lost the next five wickets for just 38 runs. Mooen Ali played a fine knock of 36 runs off 26 deliveries and was dismissed in the 20th over. Super Kings could make only 108 runs for the loss of nine wickets and lost the match by 37 runs.
