But the partnership of 108 runs between Akash Wadhwa (42) and Senthil Lakshmanan (48) saved the sinking ship and took the team’s score to a respectable total of 128/2.  When Pakhtoon Zalmi came to bat, they lost their opener Arif Sangar very early. But then Izhar Hussain and Abdullah Hamdard picked up the match and scored 37 runs and 62 runs, respectively.  With a smaller yet effective support from Hamad Khan, who scored 14 runs off just four balls, they took their team to the win. The Lions were able to pick up just four wickets and failed to stop the flow of runs from Zalmi. Kanishk Shah, Ashwin Prakash, Saravanakumar Subramani, and Nicholas Salonen got one wicket each.
