Five reasons why Rohit Sharma is a better captain than Virat Kohli
Kohli might be the best batsman but he lacks a lot of things when it comes to leading a side.
4) Smart utilization of domestic players
The Bangalore based franchise has always been a home to some of the superstars of the game. The Virat Kohli-led side is mostly dependent on star power to win games, and that’s why domestic talents have not prospered under his captaincy. Kohli has always used uncapped players in an ill-suited manner, as most of them are given limited opportunities and after a couple of bad outings, they are axed from the side to test out another talent.
The IPL has frequently carved out some great domestic talents and some of them have even represented the Men in Blue. Over the years, Mumbai Indians has produced some gems in the form of Hardik Pandya and Jasprit Bumrah, and some of the credit should go to Rohit Sharma as he provided them with enough chances to showcase their skills.
Unlike Kohli, the vice-captain of the Indian team gives a new player a longer rope and that’s why Mumbai Indians have been a successful team in the IPL tourney. In this season Rahul Chahar played 12 games, but Washington Sundar played only 2 games which gives an idea of how Kohli utilizes his resources.
