When Dhoni took charge in 2007 the fielding standards of the Indian team were quiet poor, more than half of the team were liabilities on the field, though our catch conversion were pretty good but one generally did not associated nimbleness and agility with the Indian fielders then but the things have considerably changed since then and India fielding team is among the best in the world right now. India posses a pool of talented fielders and Virat, Raina, Jadeja, Rahane, Rohit etc are all world class fielders. Dhoni believes one can’t control the batting and bowling part in the match but one can certainly control the fielding part; he has numerous times stated the importance of a crucial run out or saving 15-20 runs in the final outcome of the match. Importance he gave to fielding since the start of his leadership is definitely reaping rewards now.
