Former teammates wish Sachin Tendulkar on his birthday
The duo of Sehwag and Sachin have shared some memorable partnerships on the field
Sachin Tendulkar and Virender Sehwag were two of the greatest batsmen that India has ever had. While Sehwag started going after the bowlers from ball one, Sachin did his business calmly and bailed his team out on most of the occasions. Sachin and Sehwag share a good rapport as the two are known to be great friends off the field. Sehwag is also known to voice his opinions on social media through his humorous tweets while the little master has become more of a family man.
Today, Sachin Tendulkar is celebrating his 45th birthday. Popularly known as “God of Cricket”, Tendulkar devoted 25 years of his life to cricket. In this process, he has amassed over 34000 international runs. Such records remain a dream to most of the cricketers and they look down upon Sachin as their role model and try to emulate him.
Sehwag tweeted:”Woh sirf ek Cricketer nahi, Duniya hai Meri ! aur bahuton ki. Many more happy returns of the day to a man who could stop time in India (literally). Thank you for making the Cricket Bat such a great weapon, which later many like me could also use. #HappyBirthdaySachin,”
Time-stopper
Cricket writer Peter Roebuck had once written the following about Sachin Tendulkar:”On a train from Shimla to Delhi, there was a halt at one of the stations. The train stopped by for few minutes as usual. Sachin was nearing a century, batting on 98. The passengers, railway officials, everyone on the train waited for Sachin to complete the century. The genius can stop time in India!” Thus, Sachin achieved everything that was there in international cricket.
Though four years have passed since his retirement, Tendulkar continues to rule the hearts of millions of fans. He continues to inspire thousands of young players who wish to take cricket as their profession. For a country which is full of diversity, Tendulkar’s batting acted as a unifying object and when he batted, people from all castes, religions and regions prayed for him. His success brought joy to all.
There were other notable personalities who wished Sachin on his birthday:
The former Indian cricketer was famous not only in India but in all parts of the World. Barack Obama, former US President once quoted,”I don’t know about cricket but still I watch cricket to see Sachin play..Not b’coz I love his play its b’coz I want to know the reason why my country’s production goes down by 5 percent when he’s in batting.”
Sachin Tendulkar will be forever etched in our memory.
