The Under-19 World Cup is done and dusted, and one will have to say, the Indian team set a remarkable tone by outclassing the opposition in all three departments right through. Interestingly, the victory margin for India was huge every match as they dismissed the challenge with disdain. Prithvi Shaw and his troops put up a collective effort under the guidance of legendary cricketer Rahul Dravid to clinch fourth World Cup title.

One of the biggest finds of India’s victorious U19 World Cup campaign is the speedster Kamlesh Nagarkoti, who has been not only been able to impress with his skiddy pace and bounce but has also been able to play important knocks lower down the order. The Rajasthan fast bowler was able to provide important breakthroughs for his side and settled with 9 wickets in the tournament. he was also India’s best bowler in the final.

Next big assignment

In an exclusive interview with News18, Nagarkoti didn’t shy away from crediting the great Rahul Dravid for his and team’s success and said he got to learn from Dravid just by observing him from a distance. He also said he is fortunate enough to share the dressing room with a legend like him.

“The biggest experience was to be able to share the dressing room with Rahul Dravid. He taught us how to stay calm under pressure and how to conduct yourself on and off the field,” Nagarkoti said.

His next big assignment is the eleventh edition of the Indian Premier League. He has been bought by the two-time champion team, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) who paid a whopping 3.2 crores to buy his services. He will be eyeing to make it count and play to his strengths.
