'Get well soon Bhai' - Cricketers wish Shahid Afridi's speedy recovery from Coronavirus
Afridi is the fourth Pakistan cricketer to be tested positive for Coronavirus.
Even as some of the countries are slowly recovering from Coronavirus, there are a few nations where the cases are at its peak. India and Pakistan are two of the countries where the pandemic is now reaching its peak it seems. Former Pakistan cricketer Shahid Afridi, on Saturday, stunned everyone by confirming that he has been tested positive for the Coronavirus.
He is not the first cricketer to be diagnosed with COVID-19 in the country though. Pakistan have already lost their former cricketers Zafar Sarfraz and Riaz Sheikh to the virus while the former opener Taufiq Umar was also tested positive. However, he recovered from the disease and confirmed the same recently. Moreover, he has also urged everyone to take the pandemic seriously and stay at home to be safe.
As far as Shahid Afridi is concerned, he was busy helping the poor and needy people through his Foundation in Pakistan even during the lockdown in the country. While informing the news to his fans, Afridi stated that he wasn’t feeling well since the last couple of days and hoped for a quick recovery.
“I’ve been feeling unwell since Thursday; my body had been aching badly. I’ve been tested and unfortunately, I’m covid positive. Need prayers for a speedy recovery, InshaAllah #COVID19 #pandemic #hopenotout #staysafe #stayhome,” his tweet read.
Kamran Akmal, Hasan Ali, Wahab Riaz and others wish for Shahid Afridi
As soon as the news of Shahid Afridi being tested positive for COVID-19 came out, Pakistan cricketers wished for his speedy recovery. The likes of Kamran Akmal, Hasan Ali, Mohammad Hafeez, Wahab Riaz and Sohail Tanveer among many others took to their Twitter handles and hoped that he recovers from the disease soon.
Hafeez termed him as a fighter by nature and was confident that his former teammate would be fit and fine again soon. “U r a Fighter by Nature & M sure U wil fight & wil Defeat this Virus soon, Best wishes for U to Get well soon,” his tweet read. Herschelle Gibbs also hoped for the well being of his cricketer friend during this difficult time.
