Australian all-rounder Glenn Maxwell has become the latest cricketer to get hitched to his girlfriend. He is dating an Indian origin Australian women Vini Raman for quite some time, now and made an official announcement on Twitter that the two were now engaged.

The all-rounder was ruled out of Australia’s limited-overs tour to South Africa due to an elbow injury that required surgery. He had previously led his BBL franchise Melbourne Stars to the final of this year’s edition of the T20 tournament and was in the prime form of his life, after taking a short break from cricket due to mental health issues.

It bodes well for the all-rounder who was struggling with his form for some time prior to the break and this news of getting engaged to the love of his life is just the icing on the cake for him. As per his now fiancé’s social media bio, Raman is a pharmacist based in Melbourne and has been dating the Australian cricketer for some time now, as is evident from some of the couple’s adorable pictures posted on her feed. Cricket Australia posted a photo of the lovely couple on their official Twitter account, congratulating them on their engagement.

The two have been dating for over two years and when they get married, Maxwell will follow the footsteps of former Australia fast bowler Shaun Tait, who married Mashoom Singha in 2014 after meeting at an IPL party and dating for a year. Both Maxwell and Raman’s social media feed is filled with adorable photos of them.

Meanwhile, on the cricketing front, Maxwell will be playing for Kings XI Punjab in IPL 2020, after his former franchise bid heavy for him in the auction which took place in December of 2019. Maxwell has captained the Punjab team in IPL previously, before missing the IPL 2019 season in order to stake a claim in Australia’s Test team for the Ashes last year.

However, with Australian selectors not naming him in the longest format and him struggling to find form for some time; Maxwell will now be looking forward to making a claim for himself in the Australia squad for the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup 2020 which will be played in Australia.
