Toronto Nationals got off to a horrendous start in the Global T20 Canada, losing to defending champions Vancouver Knights by eight wickets. However, the team, captained by Yuvraj Singh, made a comeback in their previous game versus Edmonton Royals at the CAA Centre, Brampton in Ontario. In the last match, the Nationals were faced with the task of chasing down 192 runs in 19 overs.

During the run-chase, they lost wickets at regular intervals, but a 12-ball 33 blitz from Manpreet Gony saved the day for the Nationals. Even as Yuvraj got his mojo back, Heinrich Klaasen continued with his rich vein of form. The team is currently hanging in the middle of the points table and is next scheduled to lock horns with Rayad Emrit’s Winnipeg Hawks in the first of Monday’s doubleheader.
