While growing up I used to watch Sachin Tendulkar with a sense of awe: Virat Kohli
With me you get what you see: Kohli
Shortly after India’s star batsman Virat Kohli became the quickest to reach 30 ODI tons, overhauling the greatest of greats such as Ricky Ponting and Sachin Tendulkar, the murmurs about Kohli breaking the Master’s momentous record started to unfold. In a recent event, India’s ace batsman claimed that he used to watch Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar with a sense of awe.
Kohli made these statements at an event organized by the Chairman of RPSG Group, Sanjiv Goenka, in their event to recognise and nurture future Indian sporting champions in an attempt to make India a multi-sporting nation. Kohli further stated that he wanted to touch the Master’s feet and do something similar for the country. The all format Indian captain also affirmed that with him leading the side there is no ‘hide and seek’ and ‘you get what you see’.

“When I was growing up I used to watch Sachin Tendulkar with a sense of awe. I just wanted to touch his shoes if you know what I mean. And that’s when I used to tell myself that I wanted to do something similar for India,” stated Virat Kohli according to Economic Times.
“Look, with me you get what you see. There’s no hide and seek. I don’t believe in hiding things. I had never imagined 10 years back that I would be sitting here today talking to you as captain of India in all three formats of the game. But that’s the reality. And I’ll always be passionate about what I do,” clarified Kohli regarding his captaincy motto.
Virat also talked about him doubting his abilities in the longest format of the game ahead of the Adelaide Test in 2012. “I had to answer the question to myself if I was good enough to play Test cricket. The world did not matter to me. It was about my self-worth. And I’m glad I was ad,” concluded Kohli.
