GT vs LSG: Krunal Pandya wittily avoids celebrating after picking brother Hardik Pandya's wicket

Hardik Pandya and Krunal Pandya played in the Indian Premier League (IPL) for Mumbai Indians only until they were separated in the mega auction ahead of the 2022 season. The five-time champions released both players and while Hardik was picked up by Gujarat Titans, his elder brother secured a whopping contract of INR 8.25 crore with Lucknow Super Giants.

They locked horns against each other on March 28 (Monday) during the game between GT and LSG at the Wankhede Stadium. The Pandya brothers are known to be extremely competitive on the field and the same was visible in the middle. Krunal didn’t get to face his brother’s bowling with Hardik completing his quota of overs earlier. But the left-arm spinner had a chance to bowl at the Titans skipper right from the word go and enjoyed success against him as well.

Hardik Pandya came out to bat at four for the Titans in the third over itself with his side struggling at 15/2. He steadied the innings well along with Matthew Wade. To break the partnership, KL Rahul introduced Krunal Pandya into the attack who bowled decently until the end of his second over when Hardik thumped him for a brilliant four.

Krunal has the last laugh

However, Krunal managed to have the last laugh in the battle as he immediately had his revenge off the first ball of his third over. The pressure was increasing on Hardik and Wade with the required run-rate piling up and the former tried to take the attack to his brother’s left-arm spin. But he couldn’t time the ball and ended up holing out to Manish Pandey at long-off.

While Hardik Pandya was visibly disappointed, Krunal decided to wittily to celebrate the dismissal. He hid his face with both his hands and was seen smiling later, having broken the partnership for his side.

Nevertheless, it was a decent effort with the bat from Hardik as he mustered 33 runs off 28 deliveries with five fours and a six to his name.
