Hardik Pandya once again led the Gujarat Titans from the front with a whirlwind knock against the Rajasthan Royals in Match 24 of IPL 2022 at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai on April 14. At one stage, GT lost their top order very early before the younger of the Pandya brothers carried out the rescue act by taking matters into his own hands.
While Hardik’s enterprising knock played a pivotal role in powering Gujarat to a stiff total, what really stood out here is his heartwarming gesture shown towards the Rajasthan Royals pacer Prasidh Krishna after having hit him for a four which was a true act of sportsmanship spirit shown on the cricket field.
Hardik Pandya’s heartwarming gesture earns praises
On the final ball of the Gujarat Titans’ innings, Prasidh Krishna bowled a full toss outside the off-stump and Pandya attempted to dispatch it into the stands. However, the ball hit the under edge of the bat and quickly raced away to the third man boundary for four, deceiving the wicketkeeper and captain Sanju Samson. Those were some precious runs for the Gujarat franchise.
Meanwhile, Krishna was seen giving a dejected look after he ended up conceding a boundary off the mishit but, Hardik Pandya cheered him up by apologizing and appreciating the ball that he had bowled.

Meanwhile, after being asked to bat first, the Gujarat Titans were reduced to 53/3 in the seventh over before Hardik and Abhinav Manohar added 86 runs for the fourth wicket. Manohar scored a 28-ball 43 before being dismissed. The GT skipper then took up the responsibility of going after the bowlers in the middle and slog overs.
He timed the ball to perfection during his brilliant cameo as remained unbeaten at 87 runs from 52 deliveries including eight fours and four sixes at an outstanding strike rate of 167.3 as the Titans posted 192/4 from their 20 overs. Hardik Pandya is now at the top in the Orange Cap list, having amassed 224 runs from five matches.
