Jason Roy, the England cricketer who played a major role in making England win the World Cup 2019, which was the maiden World Cup win for the Brits. Roy was a big hit for his team during this mega event in which he scored runs with a magnificent average of 55.37. He smashed fifty against all the top three teams in the World Cup 2019 and scored a brilliant century against Bangladesh, but suddenly after the conclusion of World Cup, Roy has struggled to score a lot of runs.

Just after the World Cup conclusion, England got involved in Ashes. Jason Roy was picked in the squad, looking forward to his magnificent form throughout the World Cup but it was never the case. When the successful opener was brought back into the squad he was a big disaster for the English team, who got 110 runs in 8 innings he played, which was a major reason behind the dip in the performance of England.

Jason Roy looks disappointed over his omission from Test Squad

Now, ahead of England’s tour to New Zealand, where the English team has to play five Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is) and two Test matches, ECB announced a 15-man squad for the tour. The selectors snubbed Jason Roy and Jonny Bairstow from the Test squad. Even looking at the poor show from Jason Roy during the Ashes, he was even dropped from the final Ashes Test match. Dominic Sibley and Zak Crawley have been given the chance ahead of Jason Roy and Jonny Bairstow against Kiwis.

It looked like Jason Roy didn’t look impressed with the decision of England Cricket Board and took to his Twitter handle and wrote,” Gutted to have missed out on the test squad for NZ, but best of luck to all the lads. Hard work continues and always looking forward”. From this tweet, the frustration of Jason Roy was easily visible.

Heres is the tweet of Jason Roy:

Here is how fans bashed Roy:

In the squad traveling to New Zealand, there were some new names like Dominic Sibley, Zak Crawley, Saqib Mahmood, Matthew Parkinson, and Tom Banton who have earned their first call ups in their respective formats. The English team will play their first match on their away tour to NewZealand on 1st November at Hagley Oval in Christchurch.
