The ongoing IPL 2022 has witnessed some unique celebrations from a few players. However, emerging all-rounder Riyan Parag has faced flak on social media for his on-field celebrations. The youngster’s reaction on the field has been a subject of debate on social media and once even medium-pacer Harshal Patel refused to exchange handshakes with him after the end of a league match between the Rajasthan Royals and Royal Challengers Bangalore over his celebration earlier in the game.
Lately, India’s limited-overs specialist Suryakumar Yadav had also given his opinion on Parag’s attitude on social media during the Qualifier 1 clash between Rajasthan Royals and Gujarat Titans on May 24. The netizens were not impressed with it and even urged him to delete the tweet asking him not to encourage the youngster in such a manner.
Here’s what Yadav had tweeted:
Amazing attitude on the field 😍#riyanparag #RRvGT

In Qualifier 1, Riyan had grabbed headlines for giving an angry stare at Ravichandran Ashwin after the latter had him run out towards the end of the first innings. Though RR posted a competitive total of 188/6, it was not enough as GT won the match by seven wickets after David Miller clobbered pacer Prasidh Krishna for three sixes in the last over of the contest.
Meanwhile, RR have another shot at redemption against Royal Challengers Bangalore in Qualifier 2 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on May 27. RCB come into this clash on the back of an impressive 14-run win over LSG a couple of days ago.
Despite getting criticism on social media, Riyan had earlier made it clear that he does not care about what people have to say about him.
See u got the tweet but still didn't get it! And i don't celebrate like anyone i celebrate like riyan and riyan will celebrate when he wants to. Cheers!
