Former Indian cricketer Arun Lal will be tying the knot for the second time at the age of 66 with his long time friend Bulbul Saha, on May 2, 2022, and the Haldi ceremony took place on Sunday (April 24) on account of the upcoming marriage. Lal had gotten the consent from his first wife for marrying Bulbul and most of the family members were all present on the special occasion.
The couple had chosen their attire to be yellow and the rules of the ‘Gaye Halud’ (Haldi) ceremony were all implemented by Lal as well. An arrangement of grand dawat also took place after the ceremony as both Lal and Bulbul were spotted with smiling faces in the pictures. The invitation of their marriage has been one of the trending pictures as it suggested that they are getting married in a hotel in Kolkata privately.
It has to be noted that Lal had mutually agreed with his first wife Reena to get a divorce until she fell ill and the retired Indian cricketer chose to take care of her instead. There have also been reports that Lal and Bulbul will together take care of Reena after their marriage.
Arun Lal’s coaching stint with Bengal
Lal represented India in 16 Tests and 13 ODIs from the period of 1982 and 1989 and he made seven international fifties in the process. However, he was in and out of the side despite having some amazing first-class numbers and then took up commentary post-retirement. Lal was diagnosed with jaw cancer which kept him away from the commentary stint for a while but he returned to take up the coaching role for Bengal.
Lal has made significant developments on the Bengal side since taking over and took them to the finals of the 2019-2020 Ranji Trophy against Saurashtra. Bengal missed out on glory as Saurashtra won by a close lead in the first innings but the performances certainly went up certainly since Lal came into the setup.
