Veteran Indian spinner Harbhajan Singh recently made it to the news after registering himself for the players’ draft of The Hundred. The legendary spinner has not played for India since the 2016 Asia Cup and is unlikely to get another recall. And while his international career is as good as over, his decision to enter the draft for The Hundred raised several eyebrows since he is still active in the domestic circuit.

The off-spinner has been a regular face in the Indian Premier League and has plied his trade for Chennai Super Kings in the last couple of years. As BCCI does not allow the active players to play in overseas T20 leagues, there were speculations that Harbhajan might announce his retirement before asking for a No Objection Certificate.

However, he later pulled out of the players’ draft and made it clear that he would not take any step which would breach the rules set by the BCCI. The Punjab stalwart also confirmed that he would play in the next edition of the IPL for Chennai Super Kings. Harbhajan was integral to Super Kings’ fine performance in the last two seasons, helping the team win the title in 2018 and make it to the finals this year.

“For me, Indian Premier League and Chennai Super Kings remain priorities. I have had two good seasons with CSK where we played two finals. So right now, a good third season is what I am looking at. I respect rules laid down by my parent body. I will never flout any BCCI rule. If that means withdrawing my name from the draft, so be it. I will withdraw my name,” he said as quoted by India Today after withdrawing his name from the players’ draft.

Harbhajan Singh to try his hands at acting

Harbhajan Singh is all set to take his love for Tamil Nadu to a whole new level by acting in a science fiction film titled Dikkiloona. He has become a fan-favorite among the Super Kings’ fans due to his performance and the way he has interacted with them in Tamil. His latest move is bound to take him, even more, closer to the fans.

Santhanam will be the lead actor in the movie and will be playing a triple-action role in this film, according to the Times of India.  Produced by KJR Studios, the shooting for the movie directed by Karthik Yogi is set to start in November. The movie will be ready to hit the screens in April 2020. The makers of the film took to Twitter to reveal the news of Harbhajan Singh’s involvement in the film.
