Harbhajan Singh upset with Windies performance in the ongoing series
With the West Indies getting thrashed black and blue against the Indians in Jamaica, 35-year old Indian off-spinner Harbhajan Singh has lamented the performance of the home team in the ongoing series. Selecting a supremely young squad for the Test series, the Indians have had little or no problem securing victories in the series.
Harbhajan was rather disappointingly left out of the side with the Indians opting to add a bit of variation to their spin bowling attack by roping in Amit Mishra into the scheme of things.
A Tweet from Harbhajan showcased his disappointment towards the proceedings in the ongoing series. His message on social media read, “Nth left in present Windies team.Very sad 2 see that.if same 2020 champions team play thn makes this series alive”.
The Indians claimed a comfortable win in the first Test at Antigua, where they claimed their biggest win outside Asia with a massive margin of an innings and 92 runs. Moreover, the fact that they were able to do it as easily as they did brought doubts in the minds of many regarding the direction which West Indies cricket was taking at the moment. Some even brought up the fact that the West indies Cricket Board was not doing enough for its players, a debate that has been resonating in the cricket world for the better part of almost three to four years.

Ravichandran Ashwin picked up the man of the match award in the first Test courtesy of a 7-wicket haul and a century in the only innings that the Indians batted in. The second Test at Jamaica further solidified the cricketing world’s fears as the Indian team seem poised for a victory despite the massive amount of rain and thundershowers dominating the third and fourth day’s play.
