Hardik Pandya bumps into umpire Richard Kettleborough during the match
The gracious umpire led a hand as both shook hands and returned to their positions
The India Test tour of Australia has been nearing its end after some rollicking action. With the visitors all poised to win their first ever Test series in Australia, there has been plenty unusual that’s happening around in the series so far. The Indian bowlers have managed to outperform the Aussie bowling lineup, Cheteshwar Pujara has been leading the run-getters list, etc.
Alongside that, the banter exchanges heard from the stump mic have been amazing. The best part is that it has all been in good spirit. Today there was another incident involving Hardik Pandya. The lanky all-rounder hasn’t been a part of the playing XI in the Test series. However, he came in as a substitute during the day.
Travis Head tried to find a gap but found Hardik Pandya at short extra cover making it quickly. In the process, Pandya ended up bumping towards umpire Richard Kettleborough. In order to avoid the same, Richard tried to block but Pandya ended up falling down. The gracious umpire led a hand as both shook hands and returned to their positions. It was quite heartening to watch the same.

Hardik Pandya has been out of action since he injured himself during the Asia Cup. He wasn’t even named in the Indian squad for the first two Tests before a good outing at Ranji Trophy ensured his fitness to the selectors. Since the World Cup is less than five months away, the all-rounder will be looking forward to regain his momentum in the upcoming limited overs season.
After the Test series comes to an end, India will be facing Australia in ODIs. This will be followed by the New Zealand tour which includes five ODIs and 3 T20Is. Australia will also be touring India during late February for another limited overs series. The preparations for the World Cup is expected to be in full swing in the coming months.
