Mumbai Indians have stormed their way to the final of IPL 2020 and would face Shreyas Iyer and his men in the ultimate meeting. In the recent turn of developments, Mumbai skipper Rohit Sharma has revealed that their star all-rounder Hardik Pandya is not comfortable while bowling. He is carrying a niggle, and this was the reason why he hasn’t been utilised as a bowler during Mumbai’s face-offs.

On the other hand, Pandya’s batting display has just been phenomenal in the entire season. Rohit added that the 27-year-old all-rounder is being assessed after every three-four games, and the team management has left the decision to show up with the ball entirely on him.

Sharma emphasised the fact that they would not like to put Hardik in a position where he would stress himself. Hardik has been able to press the accelerator with the bat in hand on various occasions in this season of IPL.

We have left all that decision on Hardik Pandya: Sharma

“We have had his assessment every three-four games, and we have spoken to him about what he wants to do. He is not comfortable at the moment to bowl. We have left all that decision on him. If he feels comfortable, he will be happy to bowl. But at the moment, he is not feeling comfortable. He has got some niggle going. It would have been great to have him bowl,” said Sharma in the pre-match press conference.

Apart from talking about Pandya, the skipper heaped praises on their star batsman Suryakumar Yadav. Yadav has been phenomenal this season, and his thunderous innings have pushed the team’s score to greater heights. Rohit added that the 30-year-old has taken the game to “another level”.

“Surya is someone who has taken his game to another level. We all have seen, we all have witnessed. One good thing about him that struck me was his tempo and maintaining that tempo when he comes to bat. He has done extremely well for us, and I am really happy for him. He is here to make it big, and we can see that happening,” concluded Sharma.

Mumbai Indians are set to lock horns with Delhi Capitals in the final of IPL 2020 on Tuesday, November 10 at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.
